Monday, is when I get to start over. My slate is clean. I have my goals set, and I'm ready to meet that quota again.
Being motivated to workout is not a struggle for me. It was the first thing I worked on when I was on my initial journey of trying to lose weight. In the beginning it was hard to motivate myself to get 1 hour of physical activity per day. I had a baby, 2 young children, no mat leave and a job. With determination and support, I made exercise a daily habit. Now it's second nature.
Nutritional eating was the next thing I worked on once the exercise was on track. I loosely followed the Weight Watchers program since I had done it so many times in the past. Once I hit and then exceed my weight loss goal, I realized since exercise was a daily habit I didn't have to stress so much about the eating. I didn't go nuts and start eating French fries and ice cream. Working out made me re-think what I ate. Eventually my food choices were a reflection of my hard work. It became easier to chose something healthy.
While recently following MyFitnessPal, I realized while I was eating within my calorie zone I was not getting balanced nutrition. I was not getting enough protein, fruits and vegetables. I was opting for carbs and healthy fats. Trying out the 21 Day Fix program was proof!
Last week I didn't succeed 100%. But I'm getting there. This week I'm starting off fresh, with that clean slate. I plan to make some small changes to improve on my success. To eat properly for my body's level of performance. It's a process.
